The PG Mascot has been a popular icon in the city since 1960, when it was first envisioned by the Mayor Harold Moffat. Mr.PG gained some popularity on a parade float in the May Day Parade that year. In 1961, He won first prize in the Kelowna Ragatta Parade and second prize in the Pacific National Exhibition Parade. The Mascot holds a prominent position at the crossroads in Prince George, watching traffic coming and going from all four directions around the city during all seasons of the year.
