The purpose of this virtual cache is to introduce caches to one of the most prominent, architecturally beautiful, and historically interesting buildings in downtown Fresno. You don't have to go inside the building to obtain the answers to the questions, but you are encouraged to do so. Before 6 PM on weekdays you will need to pay for your parking.
As with all virtual caches you must visit the posted coordinates, which will take you to an entrance on the northwest side of the tower. There are informative plaques on both sides of the door that contain information. You will need to either email or message the CO with the answers to the following six questions. Please do NOT include the answers in your log, even if encrypted. You may claim a find without waiting for me to respond to your answers; I will contact you if there are any problems.
To answer the first two questions please read the plaque to the right of the door.
1. The water tower is modeled after a water tower in which German city?
2. In what year was the water tower sold to the city of Fresno?
To answer the other four questions please read the plaque on the left side of the door.
3. What is the full name of the person honored by this plaque, including his middle initial?
4. What rank did he attain in the U. S. Navy?
5. What U. S. military medal did he earn?
6. There are several lines of printing underneath the name and two dates. What is the fifth word in the fifth line of that printing?
I used my GPSer to determine some initial coordinates and then used the website Google Maps to come up with the most accurate coordinates I could. The hiding place is quite visible in the satellite photo and the coordinates appear to be good.
If you have any suggestions on improving the description of this hide, including any of the numbers I've used, please let me know, either via a log entry or an email message. Thank you.
Congratulations to elrojo14 for being the FTF for this cache!
