Rijeka is the first Croatian city to bear the title of European Capital of Culture. Rijeka’s slogan in this project is “The Port of Diversity”, and it embodies the key components of the city’s identity, its body and spirit.
The port represents the real heart of Rijeka, and through the history it has been the driving force of the city situated in the northernmost border of the Mediterranean and Central Europe. The existing breakwater, commonly known as the “Molo Longo”, today serves as a popular seaside promenade thanks to its length of 1707 m. It provides a beautiful view of the city from the seaside, and of the mountains in the backdrop.
Over the last 100 years, our city has changed countries seven times, and that fact is clearly reflected in the diversity present throughout all the spheres of Rijeka’s everyday life. All of this gave rise to population migrations, and turned Rijeka into a cultural melting pot, thus creating a spirit of a city where everybody is welcomed.

Rijeka je prvi hrvatski grad koji nosi titulu europske prijestolnice kulture. Slogan koji nosi u ovom projektu je “Luka različitosti” i utjelovljuje osnovne komponente identiteta grada, njegovog života I njegovog duha. Luka predstavlja istinsko srce grada Rijeke i kroz stoljeća je bilo pokretačka snaga grada na najsjevernijoj granici Mediterana i srednje Europe.
Lukobran, popularno nazvan “Molo Longo”, danas služi kao morska šetnica zahvaljujući svojoj duljini od 1707m. Putem pruža krasne vedute grada s morske strane, uokvirene planinama u pozadini.
Kroz zadnjih stotinjak godina, naš grad je mijenjao zemlju sedam puta i ta činjenica je jasno reflektirana u različitosti koja je prisutna u svim sferama njegovog svakodnevnog života. Sve je to podstaklo migracije u oba smjera i pretvorilo Rijeku u kulturni miks, kreirajući pritom duh grada koji pruža dobrodošlicu svima.
Vaš zadatak: Uživajmo u različitosti i u geocachingu i pokažimo da dolazimo iz raznih dijelova svijeta . Molimo stanite na GZ (ispred table “Slobodna zona luke Rijeka) sa svojom državnom zastavom (ovdje možete biti vrlo kreativni i nacrtati svoju zastavu, pokazati njenu sliku na ekranu mobitela ili donesite pravu zastavu.
