Geocache Description:

This cache will bring you to Station 3 which is not your ordinary Fire Station. This fire station is the ONLY Miami-Dade Fire Station with a Red Truck. They dedicated the fire truck on June 28th, 2002 to the New York City firefighters who lost their lives in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. The firehouse unveiled one of its trucks which was outfitted with a white over red paint scheme to resemble the FDNY's apparatus, complete with a display of the American flag, New York City skyline and the Statue of Liberty.

The truck, a 2015 Rosenbauer Commander Pumper, also displays "Never Forget" on the back of the truck and lists the names of all 343 firefighters who died on 9/11. The this truck Has the names of all the firefights that we lost on that day. During the day it’s a black stripe with white letters and at night it’s a white stripe with black letters. While all firefighters have a connection to what happened that day, Fire Station 3 has an even deeper connection. Firefighters use a red fire truck which was given to them as a symbol of the red fire trucks used in New York City. And inside the station, memorabilia marking 9/11, like a flag with the names of the firefighters who lost their lives that day.
