Geocache Description:

Welcome to the International Flag Display!

This Virtual cache consists of two groups of flags each side of the concave grassed area of Commonwealth Place.

You are welcome to visit any group of flags to log this virtual. Try and visit on a breezy day to see the flags billowing in the wind - it's quite spectacular!

Both paid and free parking areas are located nearby the cache icon on the map and both sides of the flag display are wheelchair accessible.

Launched in 1999, The 110 flags of The International Flag Display at Commonwealth Place colourfully represent the 108 international Missions that have a diplomatic presence in Canberra, as well as flags of the European Union and the United Nations.

All national flags are positioned alphabetically, starting closest to the High Court of Australia. The first country listed is Afghanistan and the last, alphabetically speaking, is Zimbabwe. More information about the display can be found at the display itself or here.

Updated logging requirements 3/4/24:

Simply take a photo of yourself and/or username at the flags and include it with your log.

Just for fun, maybe take a selfie with your favourite flag and let us know why it's your favourite in your log! smiley

Please note: Any logs not meeting the requirements above or are deemed bogus, WILL be deleted.
