Geocache Description:

Stop, shake off the dust and visit the iconic Ettamogah Pub, situated 15 kilometres north of Albury on the Hume Highway, an easy rest stop or drive from the city.

The Pub is open from 10am till late, every day of the year and is a very interesting place to visit.

The original creator of the Ettamogah Pub was Ken Maynard who started drawing the Ettamogah Pub in 1959. It was made famous through his regular cartoons in The Australasian Post. The Museum contains an interesting collection of Maynard’s cartoons, antiques, relics and Australiana.

The word "ettamogah" is Aboriginal for "place of good drink". Ettamogah spelt backwards and said fast actually says ‘how going mate!’ Go on, give it a try!
