Geocache Description:

The location

Monument Hill in Fremantle is home of the Fremantle War Memorial. From the hill you have close to 360-degree views over Fremantle, and you can look out over Fremantle Harbour and down to Garden Island. Feel free to walk around the various displays and dedications to those that served in World War I and II, the Korean War, Malayan Emergency and Vietnam War. The main column, named the Fallen Soldiers' and Sailors' Memorial was designed by architects J F Allen and C H Nicholas, it is constructed out of Toodyay Stone and was built and unveiled in 1928. A time capsule was placed in the monument on the day of unveiling.
