Basel ist bekannt für die vielen Museen
An den Startkoordinaten befindet ihr euch am unteren Ende des Imbergässli. Imber (Ingwer) war schon früh eine der Handelswaren der Krämer in Basel. Aus diesen Kontakten mit fernen Ländern stammen vielleicht auch die ersten Gegenstände für die Museen? Auf dem Strassenschild findet ihr eine Zahl. Merkt euch diese Zahl. Nun dreht Ihr euch gegen Westen und steigt einige Schritte diese Gasse hoch. Schaut euch sorgfältig um, dann werdet ihr ein besonderes Museum entdecken. Zwar ist dieses heute kein wirklicher Geheimtip mehr - sogar einige Stadtführungen kommen hier vorbei - aber auf die offizielle Liste von Basel Tourismus hat es dieses spezielle Museum trotzdem noch nicht geschafft.
Um diesen Virtual Cache zu loggen, müsst Ihr folgende Bedingungen erfüllen:
- a) Berechnet den Wortwert des vollen Namens des Museums (genau so wie es vor Ort permanent angeschrieben ist, A=1...Z=26)
b) Berechnet den Wortwert der drei Wörter die über dem "Eingang" zum Museum stehen (ß=ss, A=1... Z=26)
c) Berechnet die Summe der zwei Wortwerte und der Zahl auf dem Strassenschild und sendet ein Mail mit Eurem Cachernamen als Betreff an die folgende Mail-Adresse: "Berechnete Summe als Zahl"@greenmail.ch
Falls die Antwort stimmt, erhaltet Ihr umgehend die Logfreigabe.
- Was trägt Ihr in euren Hosentaschen oder in eurem Rucksack? Legt bitte etwas für euch typisches davon in die Nische neben dem Museum (mit dem bekannten Kopf) und macht davon ein Foto. Fügt dieses dem Log an.

At the starting coordinates you will find yourself at the lower end of Imbergässli. Imber (ginger) was one of the merchants' commodities in Basel from early on. Perhaps the first objects for the museums originated from these contacts with distant cultures? You will find a number on the street sign. Remember this number. Now turn towards West and climb a few steps up this alley. Look around carefully, then you will discover a special museum. Although this is no longer a real insider tip - even some city tours now pass by here - this special museum has still not made it onto the official list of Basel Tourism.
To log this virtual cache, you have to fulfil the following conditions:
- a) Calculate the word value of the full name of the museum (exactly as it is written permanently on site, A=1...Z=26).
b) Calculate the word value of the three words above the "entrance" to the museum (ß=ss, A=1...Z=26).
c) Calculate the sum of the two word values and the number on the street sign and send a mail with your cacher name in the subject to the following mail address:
"Calculated sum as number"@greenmail.ch
If the answer is correct, you will immediately receive the log release.
- What do you carry in your pockets or in your backbag? Please put something typical for you into the niche (with the well-known head) next to the museum and take a photo of it. Attach it to the log.
