Geocache Description:

Wynwood Walls - Urban Graffiti Art Miami

I have always enjoyed where geocaching has brought me. When I was selected for a virtual cache, it did not take me long to realize where I would want to bring people....The Wynwood Walls!

The Wynwood Walls outdoor destination has brought the world's greatest artists working in the graffiti and street art genre to Miami. Open to the public from 10:30 am - 11:00 pm on Monday - Saturday and 10:30 am - 9:30 pm on Sunday and free of charge the Wynwood Walls was established in 2009 by the legendary placemaker and visionary Tony Goldman as an outdoor museum of international street art. Since the first year's program - featuring Kenny Scharf, Futura, Os Gemeos, Swoon, Shepard Fairey, and other renowned innovators in street art, Wynwood Walls has become a phenomenon, spurring the creation of murals throughout the Wynwood district. It is now one of the best venues in the world to see the work of leading street artists.

The Coordinates will take you inside Wynwood Walls where you can enjoy the amazing murals. Then you will proceed into the second section of Wynwood Walls, known as Wynwood Doors, where you will find even more amazing murals.

In order to get credit for this virtual cache you must take a picture of you or your hand with a thumbs up in front of your favorite mural. If for any reason, you arrive while Wynwood Walls is closed, please take a picture of you or your hand with a thumbs up in front of the entrance sign to the park (seen in the first picture above). You must post the picture in your log, do not send it to me separately.

Update since COVID-19: There is a fee for entering Wynwood Walls, so even during open hours a photo at the gate is acceptable, but it is an amazing experience and entering is worth it.

Update 3-2022: A picture in a car is not acceptable, get out and enjoy the murals or don't log this virtual.
