Standing proudly in the land of the Gundungurra and Darug People, the traditional custodians of this declared Aboriginal Place, the imposing Three Sisters is best seen from Echo Point lookout, just outside the national park, on the edge of the plateau above. These three weathered sandstone peaks, formed thousands of years ago through erosion, are set among the cliffs of the Jamison Valley. From the lookout, you’ll also be able to see the Ruined Castle and Mount Solitary.
The commonly told legend of the Three Sisters is that three sisters, Meehni, Wimlah and Gunnedoo, lived in the Jamison Valley as members of the Katoomba tribe. They fell in love with three men from the neighbouring Nepean tribe, but marriage was forbidden by tribal law. The brothers were not happy to accept this law and so decided to use force to capture the three sisters. A major tribal battle ensued, and the sisters were turned to stone by an elder to protect them, but he was killed in the fighting and no one else could turn them back.
Echo Point lookout is the gateway to many great walks and nature experiences in the area. Take the short Three Sisters walk. If you have time, Prince Henry Cliff walk connects Echo Point to Leura Cascades and takes you past many scenic lookouts along the cliff edge. Or try going down the Giant Stairway to get to the tracks below the cliffs.

While you are at Echo Point you will need to find the answers to a couple of questions to be able to claim the smiley for this cache.
Go to the lower level and read the plaque.
1. What is the middle word on the fourth line?
2. How many timber seats are there on the lower level?
3. How many slats make up each timber seat?
4. You must include a photo with your log taken from Echo Point that identifies you or your caching name, with maybe your GPS or trackables or other personal item in it, but no spoiler photos please. Do not send the photo with your answers.
