Why does a geocacher who lives so far away, on Lake Como, come till here to "place" a cache?
The reason is easy to say: I lived in Florence during my university years and this is my small tribute to this wonderful city that gave me so much.
And why precisely Ponte Vecchio? Over the years I have lived in the Santa Croce area but also Oltrarno and I crossed this bridge thousands of times, back and forth, in every season, at any time of day or night, walking or cycling, alone or in company, hungry towards the university refectory, running towards some campus department or to a cinema... I've worn out my shoes on this bridge!
There are other caches that tell the story of Ponte Vecchio and the Vasari Corridor very well. Not this one. It's just a tribute.

Perchè un geocacher così lontano, dalle rive del lago di Como viene fin qui a "mettere" una cache?
Il motivo è presto detto: ho abitato a Firenze durante gli anni dell'università e questo è il mio piccolo omaggio a questa meravigliosa città che tanto mi ha dato.
E perchè proprio Ponte Vecchio? Nel corso degli anni ho abitato in zona Santa Croce ma anche Oltrarno e questo ponte l'ho attraversato migliaia di volte, avanti e indietro, in ogni stagione, a qualsiasi ora del giorno e della notte, in bici o a piedi, da solo o in compagnia, affamato verso la mensa universitaria, di corsa verso qualche sede distaccata o verso un cinema... insomma, ci ho consumato le scarpe sopra!
Ci sono altre cache che raccontano benissimo la storia del Ponte e del Corridoio Vasariano. Questa no. È giusto solo un omaggio.
