Geocache Description:

This Virtual Reward Cache is placed at Marchwood's Community Information Kiosk, an old Red Telephone Box that has now been repurposed.

Marchwood Phone Box is now used as an Information Kiosk, including directions for local walks, community advertising and a small book exchange. Please feel free to leave a book or attach something you want to advertise to the notice board.

This phone box is the first out of eight that we have restored in Hampshire. It was opened in July 2013 and has been in popular use ever since. We have gone on to restore phone boxes in Bramshaw, Fritham, Nomansland, Furzley, Lyndhurst and Lover. Three of our phone boxes (Bramshaw, Fritham and Lyndhurst) also have geocaches in them and we'd love it if you visited them too. (GC53HZP, GC53HJ0 and GC64WMX)

Please be aware that the phone box is locked on weekdays and is only open on Saturdays and Sundays. You DO NOT need to enter the phone box to get the information required to log a find.

To log a find:

1. When you visit the phone box you will need to gather some numbers

Number of glass panes (not just clear glass) on the left side of the phone box (not the door) = A B

Opposite the phone box door is a green box. Number on the box = C D

Including the top shelf, how many shevles are inside the phone box? = E

The numbers will allow you to complete an email address. Enter the numbers in numeric form (e.g. phone12345box@outlook.com)

phoneABCDEbox@outlook.com

2. Send a blank email with your Geocaching username in the subject line to this email address. If your numbers are correct, you will receive an email telling you that you can log a find.

3. Take a photo of the telephone box (without giving away the answers) and add it to your log

4. [Optional] Tell us in your log what you would turn a red phone box into if you had the chance!

We hope you enjoy the cache, but more importantly, we hope you enjoy our phone box.
