Göteborg Poseidon

Statyn Poseidon av Carl Milles är ett av Göteborgs kanske mest kända landmärken. Placerad på Götaplatsen stoltserar havsguden med paradgatan Avenyn framför sina fötter. Statyn invigdes i september 1931.

I brunnskaret återfinns sex mindre skulpturer och reliefer med olika vattenvarelser. Till Göteborgsutställningen 1923 uppfördes en springbrunn på samma ställe som Poseidon nu står. Poseidon omges av Konserthuset, Göteborgs Konstmuséum och Stadsteatern.

Poseidons brunnskar är 120 cm högt och själva statyn är ytterligare 7 m hög.

Eng: Poseidon, the sea God, by Carl Milles is one of Gothenburg's most famous landmarks, situated at the top of the main boulevard Avenyn at the square Götaplatsen. The square Götaplatsen was constructed for the World Fair in Gothenburg in 1923 and a fountain was placed in the same location as Poseidon, before the statue was inaugurated in September 1931.The square is surrounded by the Concert hall, the City Theatre and Gothenburg Museum of Art.

Six small sculptures and reliefs with different water creatures can be found in the well basin.

The fountain basin is 120 cm high and the statue itself measures another 7 m of height.

2. Ladda upp en bild av dig själv eller din GPS framför Poseidon eller den av de mindre skulpturerna i brunnskaret du gillar bäst, tillsammans med din logg.Dock får inte svaret på frågan framgå av loggen eller av din bild. Bildkravet tillkom från 2022-04-02.

To log this cache:

1. Go to the back of the basin. On the base of the statue you will see a creature climbing (see picture where this is hidden behind a heart). What kind of animal is this?

Send me your answer in a message, do not reveal it in the log. You do not have to wait for my confirmation to log the cache as found. I will get back to you it I have any further questions. However, a log without a message to me from you or your team is not a valid log and will be deleted.

2. Upload a picture of your GPS or yourself in front of the staue or any of your favourite smaller sculptures in the basin, toghether with your log. The answer to the question must NOT be seen in the picture. The picture is a requirement as of April 2, 2022.
