Denne kjempeutgaven av Lofotruna ble gitt som gave fra kommunene på begge sider av Nappstraumen under åpningen av den undersjøiske tunnelen i 1992 . Lofotruna blir nå av flere sett på som det egentlige lofotsymbolet.
