Puerta de Alcalá
Puerta de Alcalá (Alcala Gate) is one of the most recognizable symbols of Madrid. The impressive monument is located in the Plaza de la Independencia, near the main entrance to the Parque del Buen Retiro. The neoclassical granite construction dates back to the 18th century, when King Charles III appointed the Italian architect Francesco Sabatini to build an impressive gate in the city’s medieval wall, a gate meant to mark Madrid’s eastern boundary, replacing the more modest one nearby.
With its imposing allure, beautifully designed archways illuminated by night, and remarkable decorations, Puerta de Alcala has become a National Monument and one of the most famous landmarks in the Spanish capital. On top of the gate can be seen four beautiful angel statues by Francisco Gutierrez.
All in all, it is one of the most photographed monuments in Madrid, so to log this cache, all you have to do is taking a picture of the Puerta de Alcalá with some visible identification of your Geocaching team (t-shirt, written paper, etc ...) and if you want to, you might also appear in the picture.
Pictures can be taken from any angle. Upload your picture to the log, please. We always say that the best picture of the Alcala Gate is still to be taken
Moreover close to the coordinates posted as Additional Waypoint, there is a stone element with something written in. What can you read on the stone? IT IS NOT ON THE GATE and IT IS NOT A BENCH.
Summary of requirements to log this cache as found:
1.- Make a picture with Puerta de Alcalá and your nickname, avatar or any other thing which makes your Geocaching team indentifiable.
2.- Upload this picture to your log.
3.- Go to additional waypoint. Look for the close stone element with something written in. Use CERTITUDE to type the first word. Your nickname must appear in the solvers list
IF YOUR NICK IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE LIST OF SOLVERS, THEN YOUR "FOUND" LOG WOULD NOT BE ACCEPTABLE.
Logs which do not meet this requirements might be deleted without any notice.

Puerta de Alcalá
La Puerta de Alcalá es uno de los símbolos más reconocibles y representativos de Madrid. Este impresionante monumento está ubicado en la Plaza de la Independencia, junto a la entrada principal del Parque del Buen Retiro.
La construcción neoclásica de granito data del siglo XVIII, cuando el Rey Carlos III designó al arquitecto Francisco Sabatini para construir una impresionante puerta en la muralla medieval de la ciudad, una puerta que significase la frontera oriental de Madrid y que reemplazase la modesta puerta anterior.
Con su imponente planta, arcos bellamente diseñados iluminados por la noche y decoraciones extraordinarias, la Puerta de Alcalá se ha convertido en un Monumento Nacional y en uno de los monumentos más famosos de la capital española. En la parte superior de la puerta se pueden ver cuatro hermosas estatuas de ángeles de Francisco Gutiérrez.
Con todo, es uno de los monumentos más fotografiados de Madrid, así que para registrar este caché, deberás hacer una fotografía de la Puerta de Alcalá en la que figure alguna identificación visible de tu equipo de Geocaching (camiseta, papel escrito, etc…) y si quieres tú también puedes aparecer en la foto.
La fotografía puede tomarse desde cualquier ángulo. Por favor, acompaña el log con la fotografía. Siempre decimos que la mejor fotografía de la Puerta de Alcalá está aún por hacerse.
Además cerca de las coordenadas de waypoint adicional hay un elemento de piedra con una inscripción. ¿Qué aparece en la inscripción?. ¡NO ESTÁ EN LA PUERTA y NO ES UN BANCO!

La Puerta de Alcalá est l'un des symboles les plus reconnaissables et représentatifs de la ville de Madrid. Cet impressionnant monument est situé sur la Plaza de la Independencia (Place de l'indépendance), près de l'entrée principale du Parc du Retiro.
La construction néo-classique en granite date du XVIIIe siècle, quand le Roi Charles III d'Espagne ordonna à l'architecte italien Francisco Sabatani la construction d'une impressionnante porte dans la muraille médiévale de la ville, une porte qui symboliserait la frontière Est de Madrid et qui remplacerait la modeste porte précédente.
Avec son allure imposante, ses arches magnifiquement conçues et éclairées la nuit ainsi que ses décorations extraordinaires, la Puerta de Alcalá est devenue un Monument National et l'un des monuments les plus célèbres de la capitale espagnole.
