The Fuente de Europa fountain is situated at the Plaza Cangrejos at Torrecilla beach in Nerja overlooking the Mediterranean.
The fountain is build out of 15 separate stones sent from each of the countries that made up the European Union in the year the fountain was constructed and one special stone from Nerja. The round base is made by stones from each of the Andalusian provinces.
To log this virtual cache follow the steps below:
- Using the drawing below, identify which country sent the stone marked with the question mark/“?” (the name is not on the stone anymore, it has been worn off, the country is still a member of the EU)
- Go to the information board, identify the first year mentioned in the text
- Go to the letter “O” in the compass on the ground, take a picture towards West pointing with your finger at the tip of the coast (see example of a picture below). Hint: O=Oeste means West in Spanish, if in doubt which way is West you can check a compass, for example on your phone.
Example: Take a picture like the below and attach it to your online log
- Use your answers to step 1 and 2 to construct the email-address: GC8924C.country.year@gmail.com
Use the common English name for the country (just one word), for example if it was the Spanish stone (“Reino de España” in the original language) and the year was 1900, the email address would be GC8924C.spain.1900@gmail.com
- Send an email to the email-address you have constructed, write your geocacher name(s) in the subject field.
If the answer is correct you will receive a reply and then you can log the virtual cache online, remember to attach your picture from step 3 to your online log or your log is not valid.

La fuente Fuente de Europa está situada en la Plaza Cangrejos de la playa Torrecilla en Nerja con vistas al Mediterráneo.
La fuente está construida con 15 piedras separadas enviadas desde cada uno de los países que componen la Unión Europea en el año en que se construyó la fuente y una piedra especial de Nerja. La base redonda está realizada con piedras de cada una de las provincias andaluzas.
Para registrar esta caché virtual, siga los pasos a continuación:
- Utilizando el dibujo de abajo, identifique qué país envió la piedra marcada con el signo de interrogación / "?" (el nombre ya no está en la piedra, se ha desgastado, el país sigue siendo miembro de la UE)
- Vaya al tablero de información, identifique el primer año mencionado en el texto
- Vaya a la letra "O" en la brújula en el suelo, tome una foto hacia el oeste apuntando con el dedo a la punta de la costa (vea el ejemplo de una imagen a continuación)
