Diesen Virtual Cache möchten wir einreihen in eine Serie, die Geschichten und Legenden der Stadt Winnenden und ihrer Umgebung behandelt.
Wer will, kann dabei auch dem Winnender Mops folgen, dem Minnesänger lauschen, den Dieb am Diebsturm verhaften oder dem Minotaurus im Labyrinth den Garaus machen.
Das Schloss Winnental hat seinen Ursprung in einer um 1300 vom Deutschen Orden in Winnenden begründeten Kommende.
1665 gelangte es in den Besitz der Herzöge von Württemberg. Das Schloss wurde danach zu der heutigen Dreiflügelanlage um- und ausgebaut. Aus dieser Zeit ist noch der Monumentalbrunnen im Schlossinnenhof und eine Stuckdecke im Betsaal erhalten. Württemberg-Winnental war eine kurzlebige Seitenlinie des adligen Hauses Württemberg und existierte von 1677 bis 1733. Sie hatte ihren Sitz im Schloss Winnental.
Heute befindet sich hier das Klinikum Schloss Winnenden - Zentrum für Psychiatrie. Seit seiner Eröffnung am 1. März 1834 behandelt das Klinikum psychisch Kranke und ist somit die älteste Heilanstalt Württembergs. Besonders erwähnenswert ist der erste ärztliche Direktor Albert Zeller. Mit seiner damals bemerkenswert fortschrittlichen Denkweise, dass auch psychisch Kranke einen Anspruch auf Fürsorge, Pflege und Mitleid haben, setzte er früh Maßstäbe für die Entwicklung der Psychiatrie. In seinem ganzheitlichen Ansatz fanden Körper und Seele schon im 19. Jahrhundert zusammen.
Sehenswert ist auch die ehemalige Schlosskirche St. Jakobus gleich nebenan, die mit ihrem spätgotischen Hochaltarretabel ein Kulturdenkmal von hohem Rang besitzt.
Der Schlosspark auf dem Gelände wurde in seinen Grundstrukturen Anfang des 19. Jahrhunderts angelegt. Der Baumbestand reicht teils bis in diese Zeit zurück. Besucher des Parks spazieren vorbei am Mopsdenkmal (1717), dem barocken Monumentalbrunnen (1671) und der Teichanlage, genießen die Ruhe und sind doch mitten in der Stadt Winnenden.
Und keine Angst: Die Anlage steht für Patienten und Besucher ganzjährig offen. Also für Menschen, wie wir es alle sind 😉. Auch wenn der im Park versteckte Cache „Geschlossene Abteilung“ etwas anderes annehmen lässt, kann sich jeder im Park frei bewegen und ihn auch wieder verlassen ... vorausgesetzt, man verhält sich nicht allzu seltsam, also wie Geocacher beispielsweise 😉.
Um diesen Virtual Cache zu loggen, sind die beiden folgenden Aufgaben zu meistern:
Log-Bedingung 1:
Sende die vier Antworten (Wegpunkte 3, 5 und 6) noch vor Ort
in der Form ABCD@web.de per E-Mail los (z.B. 123456Stieleiche@web.de).
Bitte nenne im „Betreff“ Deinen Cachernamen (keine Abkürzungen, keine Teams)! "Keine Teams" bedeutet, jede(r) Cacher(in) braucht eine eigene bestätigte E-Mail!
Wenn Du unsere automatische Antwort erhältst, war alles richtig. Ohne diese Bestätigung kann nicht geloggt werden. Mit ihr erhältst Du zugleich die Zielkoordinaten.
Log-Bedingung 2:
Mach an den bestätigten Zielkoordinaten ein Foto von Dir oder Deinem GPS-Gerät/einem persönlichen Gegenstand und füge es Deinem Log-Eintrag hinzu. Es muss deutlich erkennbar sein, dass Du Dich an den Zielkoordinaten befindest.
Fotografierte Zettel am Finale, auf denen mehr als ein Cacher-Name steht, sind nicht "persönlich" und erfüllen nicht die beschriebene Log-Bedingung. Sie können nicht für weitere Logs anderer Cacher genutzt werden.
Gern gesehen sind auch weitere Fotos vom Schloss, seinen Gebäuden und vom Park, wenn sie keine Antworten spoilern.
Weitere Hinweise:
Online-Einträge, die die beiden Log-Bedingungen nicht erfüllen, werden kommentarlos gelöscht.
Da viele Cacher gerne mit ihren Hunden unterwegs sind, weisen wir ausdrücklich darauf hin, dass das Mitführen von Tieren auf dem gesamten Schlossareal verboten ist.
Und auch ganz wichtig: Bitte auf keinen Fall Patienten „aufnehmen“! Fotos, die die Persönlichkeitsrechte verletzen, werden umgehend samt Log-Eintrag entfernt.
Weitere Tipps:
Wir kamen bei unserer Begehung auf eine Wegstrecke von weniger als einem Kilometer. Uns war wichtig, dass der Virtual Cache auch für Rollstuhlfahrer machbar ist. Ein wenig Ausdauer ist aber schon von Vorteil. Niemals muss und darf für die Beantwortung der Fragen der gepflasterte Weg verlassen werden. Es steht natürlich jedem Besucher frei, weitere Ecken des Parks kennenzulernen.
Und nun viel Spaß und Entspannung beim kurzen Spaziergang durch den Schlosspark Winnental 😊!

The castle Winnental has its origin in a so-called Kommende which was founded around 1300 by the Deutscher Orden in Winnenden.
In 1665 it came into the possession of the Dukes of Württemberg. The castle was then converted to the present-day three-wing complex and expanded. From this time, the monumental fountain in the castle courtyard and a stucco ceiling in the prayer room is still preserved. Württemberg-Winnental was a short-lived sideline of the noble house of Württemberg and existed from 1677 to 1733. It had its seat in the castle Winnental.
Today, the Klinikum Schloss Winnenden - Center for Psychiatry is located here. Since its opening on 1 March 1834, the hospital treats the mentally ill, making it the oldest sanatorium in Württemberg. Particularly noteworthy is the first medical director Albert Zeller. With his remarkably progressive way of thinking that mentally ill people are entitled to care and compassion, he set early standards for the development of psychiatry. In his holistic approach, body and soul came together already in the 19th century.
Worth seeing is also the former castle church of St. Jakobus next door, which has a high-ranking cultural monument with its late Gothic high altar.
The park on the grounds was laid out in its basic structures at the beginning of the 19th century. The stock of trees partly goes back to this time. Visitors to the park walk past the Mops Monument (1717), the Baroque Monumental Fountain (1671) and the pond complex, enjoy the tranquility and yet are in the middle of the city of Winnenden.
And do not worry: The area is open to patients and visitors all year round. So for people, as we all are 😉. Even if the hidden cache in the park "Geschlossene Abteilung" suggests otherwise, anyone in the park can move freely and leave it again … assuming you do not behave too strangely, like geocachers, for example 😉.
To log this Virtual Cache, you need to complete the following two tasks:
Log condition 1:
Send the four answers (waypoints 3, 5 and 6) on the spot
in the form ABCD@web.de by e-mail (e.g., 123456oak@web.de).
Please state in the "subject" your name as geocacher! Teams are not allowed, each cacher needs his own confirmed email!
If you receive our automatic answer, everything was right. Unfortunately, without this confirmation the Virtual Cache can not be logged. With it you get the target coordinates at the same time.
Log condition 2:
Take a picture of you or your GPS device at the confirmed target coordinates and add it to your log entry. It must be surely recognizable that you are at the destination coordinates.
Photographed notes at the final with more than one cacher name on them are not "personal" and do not fulfill the described log condition. They cannot be used for further logs of other cachers.
Gladly seen are other photos of the castle, its buildings and the park, if they spoil no answers.
More information:
Online entries that do not meet the two log conditions will be deleted without comment.
Since many cachers like to travel with their dogs, we explicitly point out that it is forbidden to carry animals around the castle grounds.
And also very important: Please do not take pictures of patients! Photos that violate the privacy rights will be removed immediately, including the log entry.
More tips:
The walk has a distance of less than one kilometer. It was important to us that the Virtual Cache is also feasible for wheelchair users. A little endurance is already beneficial. The paved way may and must never be left for answering the questions. Of course, every visitor is free to get to know other corners of the park.
