La costruzione delle mura di Pisa inizia nel 1154 nella parte della città a nord dell’Arno; la realizzazione dell’opera si è protratta fino all’anno 1161, con il successivo completamento nel 1284 nella parte dell’area della Cittadella Vecchia.
Nella parte a sud dell’Arno, la costruzione delle mura è stata completata nell’anno 1186. Gli interventi sulle mura si sono protratti ulteriormente con la costruzione di terrapieni, torri e con il rialzamento di alcuni tratti; quindi possiamo dire che la cinta muraria è stata realizzata, nel suo complesso, nell’arco di circa un secolo e mezzo.

The building of the Pisa’s Walls began in 1154 in the area of the city north of the Arno river; the construction lasted until 1161, followed by a further completion in 1284 in the area of Cittadella Vecchia.
In the area south of the Arno, the walls building was completed in 1186. The construction of the walls went on with the building of embankments, towers and with the rise of some other sections; therefore, we can say that the city Walls as a whole were built over about a century and a half.

Le coordinate mostrate nel listing vi porteranno ad un punto del camminamento dove potete trovare, incastonato in terra, il frammento di un vecchio piatto di ceramica. Questo è stato originariamente trovato dai muratori durante i lavori di ristrutturazione, e volutamente lasciato in vista, insieme ad altri frammenti che si possono trovare lungo la passeggiata ,come testimonianza di una vita passata delle Mura. Per poter loggare la cache, il requisito da rispettare é il seguente:
Fate una foto di voi / del vostro GPS / di un pezzo di carta con il vostro nickname al waypoint A sulla passeggiata delle Mura e con lo sfondo della foto "Background".
I logs che non soddisferrano il requisito verranno cancellati.
Per favore, controllate gli orari aggiornati di apertura qui così da evitare un viaggio a vuoto!
Potete trovare il punto di accesso più vicino al Waypoint Access nei pressi della Torre del Leone in Piazza dei Miracoli.

The Cache
The coordinates shown in the listing will lead you to a point of the walkway where you can find, embedded in the ground, the fragment of an old ceramic plate. This was originally found by the masons during the renovation works, and intentionally left in sight, together with other fragments that can be found along the promenade, as evidence of a past life of the Walls. To log the cache this is the ONE requirement you MUST comply:
Take a picture of yourself / your GPS / a piece of paper with your geocaching name at waypoint A on the Walls walkway with the background you see in the picture "Background"
Logs that do not meet the requirement will be deleted.

You can find the access point closest to Waypoint Access near the Lion Tower in Piazza dei Miracoli.
