This is Foxton’s first, and so far, only Virtual geocache.
Where else but at this iconic, and conspicuous landmark? First proposed in 1990, the de Molen Windmill was completed and officially opened on 13th April 2003. Built to plans and specifications obtained from the Netherlands, it is a replica of a traditional 17th Century Dutch flour mill. For more information, see the De Molen website.
To claim this Virtual, you must undertake the following tasks:
1. Take a photo showing either your caching name or yourself, with the windmill. You must include this photo in your log.
2. Get up close to the windmill, and find the plaque commemorating the laying of the first stone for the building. What date appears on this plaque?
3. What is the title of the person who laid the first stone?
4. Send the answers to the above two questions by messaging or emailing me through the Geocaching Message Center. You may log your find without waiting for confirmation.
Logs not following these requirements will be deleted.
