The Location: This cache is designed to show you a very interesting monument in downtown Jefferson City. The monument in question is the L&CE (Lewis & Clark Expedition) which is also known as the Corps of Discovery. It was a mapping expedition from 1804 to 1806, the first American expedition to cross the western portion of America. The mission was led by Meriweather Lewis and William Clark. The cache: The posted coordinates will take you to a point near the center of the park just in front of the commemorative bronze statues. The waypoints give you direction to the three historic Jefferson Landing buildings. Logging requirements: 1. When facing the monument what is the name carved into the statue farthest to the right (closest to the Capitol)? 2. Take a photo of at least one of the Historic Jefferson Landing buildings. (See Waypoints). Please do not post hints in your log even if encrypted. . Much thanks to Geocaching HQ for allowing me to place this Virtual! /p>
