Emil Cedercreutzin museo perustuu köyliöläissyntyisen kuvanveistäjä Emil Cedercreutzin (1879–1949) elämäntyöhön. Museo sijaitsee Harjavallassa Kokemäenjoen rannalla, Satakunnan sydämessä. Museossa on esillä kolme laajaa perusnäyttelykokonaisuutta: Maahengen temppeli, taiteilijakoti Harjula sekä taidemuseo. Näyttelyt välittävät tarinaa Satakunnan eurooppalaisena pidetyn kuvanveistäjän, Emil Cedercreutzin, elämästä ja tuotannosta. Museon pihalle on myöhemmin perustettu myös veistospuisto, johon sijoitetaan lähivuosien kuluessa yhteensä parikymmentä Cedercreutzin veistosta.
Emil Cedercreutz oli monipuolinen taiteilija, kuvanveistäjä, siluetisti, kansatieteellisen kokoelman kerääjä ja kirjailija. Hän uudisti Suomen kuvanveistotaidetta. Työnteon ja arkielämän kuvaaminen ja veistosten jättäminen luonnosmaisiksi hetken tuokiokuviksi olivat uutta. Veistokset olivat usein arkisia maatyökuvauksia. Hevoset olivat hänen rakkain aiheensa.
Näyttelypinta-ala rakennuksissa on yli 3300 neliömetriä.
Cedercreutz sai ajatuksen perustaa museon maatyön arvostuksen kohottamiseksi jo 1904, mutta toteutti suunnitelmansa vasta 1916. Museon tuli olla ”maanviljelyksen virren alkusoitto, ylistyslaulu maan, auringon ja ihmisen yhteistyölle”. Vähitellen kuudessa eri vaiheessa vuosina 1916-1942, museo laajeni esittelemään satakuntalaista kulttuuria. Vuonna 1949 syntyi ajatus korvata Maahengen temppeli uudella museorakennuksella kokoelmien säilymisen turvaamiseksi. Rakennus toteutettiin kolmessa eri vaiheessa vuosina 1971, 1977 ja 1996. Viimeinen osa tehtiin ensimmäisenä museona maassamme osin EU-rahoituksella.

The Emil Cedercreutz Museum is based on the life work of the Köyliö born sculptor Emil Cedercreutz (1879-1949). The museum is located in Harjavalta, on the banks of the Kokemäenjoki River, in the heart of Satakunta. The museum exhibits three large sets of basic exhibitions: the Temple of Earth Spirit ( Maahengen temppeli), the Harjula Artist Home and the Art Museum. The exhibitions tell the story of the life and production of Satakunta's European sculptor Emil Cedercreutz. Later a sculpture park has been set up in the courtyard of the museum, which will house a total of some twenty Cedercreutz sculptures over the next few years.
Emil Cedercreutz was a versatile artist, sculptor, silhouette artist, ethnographic collector and writer. He renewed Finnish sculpture art. Describing work and everyday life and leaving sculptures as sketchy snapshots of the moment were new. The sculptures were often everyday descriptions of country work. Horses were his favorite subject.
The exhibition area in the buildings is over 3300 square meters.
Cedercreutz had the idea of establishing a museum to raise the appreciation of land work as early as 1904, but did not execute his plan until 1916. The museum was to be "a prelude to the hymn of agriculture, a song of praise for cooperation between earth, sun and man”.
The idea was born in 1949 to replace the Temple of Earth Spirit with a new museum building to preserve the collections. The building was completed in three stages in 1971, 1977 and 1996. The last part was the first museum in Finland made partly with EU funding.
