Geocache Description:


Kurri Kurri and the surrounding towns are home to over 60 outdoor murals, great examples of public artworks that are a visual depiction of the people, events and places that help shape the unique character and heritage of the town. More information about the murals and the town can be obtained by visiting the Kurri Kurri Visitor Information Centre. 

 

WP1; Ian 'Beat' Hill, S 32 49.146 E 151 28.792. 

Here you will see a mural of local man Ian 'Beat' Hill, whos wildlife TV show Beating 'Round the Bush won a Logie in the early 1980s. At this waypoint, tell me 3 of the animals that you can see in the mural. 

 

WP2; Kookaburras, S 32 49.100 E 28.856. 

At this waypoint you will see some of Kurri's iconic kookaburras, tell me how many kookaburras are in the mural. 

 

WP3; Australian Christmas, S 32 49.026 E 151 28.952. 

At this waypoint you will see the artists impression of an Aussie Christmas, tell me what footwear Santa is wearing. 

 

WP4; Picnic in the park, S 32 48.959 E 151 29.058. 

At this waypoint is a mural with families enjoying a picnic and some games in the park. What does the numberplate of the blue Holden (car) have on it? 

 

WP5; Ashes 2002, S 32 49.411 E 151 29.152. 

At this waypoint you will see a mural depicting a local cricket game with a bushfire raging in the background, tell me how many cricket players are in the mural. 

 

WP6; Koori Art, S 32 49.216 E 151 28.608.

At this waypoint you will see a beautiful Koori landscape, tell me how many spots are on the turtles shell.
