Black Mountain Tower

(...it has another name as well, but best not mentioned!)

Anyone that has grown up in Canberra, or lived here long enough, on a long road trip.....relishes the sight of the 'tower' as it means that you are 'home'.

I myself loved visiting here as a child.  We moved to Canberra when I was 9 and I was fascinated by the tower...it even had a different name back then.  I could see it from the garden of the house I lived in, in Flynn.  A long time after, my daughters enjoyed coming... we loved the crazy windy days on the observation deck when you really, really have to hold on.

The 5-6 minute movie about the construction in the basement theatre has been on loop for about 40 years, but it is very interesting.  I must have seen it 20 times by now.... 

Logging Requirements:

I have tried to make this a simple 'old school' virtual.  No questions, waypoints or bonus caches....

Just take a photo of either your caching name on a bit of paper/arm/leg/GPS OR a selfie..... FROM one of the observation decks of the Tower! and put it in your log.  No need to message me.  Yes, you will need to pay to get in, but the tower is cheap and one of those attractions that is cool no matter how many times you go. 

EDIT: The tower is currently closed, so a selfie from the carpark with the tower in the background will suffice
