Welcome to Jaffa! One of the oldest cities in the world.
This square was a center of Jaffa in the late 1800s, in the Turkish Ottoman era.
You are standing in front of the famous Jaffa Clock Tower, which was built in 1900.

To your left is the Seraya, which used to be an administrative center. You can easily identify it by its 4 towering columns. Most of it was destroyed by a bomb attack during the war of independence, and later rennovated.
To your right is the Kishle, which used to be a fortress, the Ottoman ruler's house, police building and prison. Now there is a botique hotel, and in the north side the remains of the old Jaffa wall.
Another spot worth mentioning is about 100 meters to the south, perhaps the most famous traditional bakery "Abulafia", established in 1879, with its signature pita variations and other good related foods.
In order to log a find for this cache, answer the following questions, and send them to me through a message in the GC website:
1. Find the sign at the base of the tower (with the color picture as seen in the photo i added). What is the last number mentioned in the sign?
2. Check the wooden doors of the clock tower. Which animals do you see on the doors and how many of them?
3. In the Seraya structure on the 2nd column from the left, there is a sign explaining its history. What is the first year mentioned?
4. Walk a little north-west along the walls of the Kishle. Count the number of windows with prison-like bars on them on the north face.
Optional (not a requirement): To immerse yourself into the Jaffa experience, walk south and find the Abulafia bakery. Try something to eat.
5. Take a picture of yourself / your hand / something of yours / local food - while the clock is in the background. Add it to your log.
