The History:

When Charles A. Lindbergh and his Ryan monoplane, the Spirit of St. Louis, touched down at Le Bourget Field at 10 p.m. on May 21, 1927, both man and machine made history. This first non-stop New york-to-Paris flight was completed in 33 hours, 30 minutes in a plane designed, built and tested in San Diego. The flight was inspired by the $25,000 Orteig Prize for the first non-stop flight between New York and Paris. Lindbergh received the prize and the acclamation of nations around the world.
Later, Lindbergh flew the Spirit of St. Louis from San Diego to New York City’s Roosevelt Field in a record-setting 21 hours and 40 minutes, including a stop in St. Louis.
On September 21, 1927, Lindbergh flew the Spirit of St. Louis back to Dutch Flat where over 60,000 San Diegans welcomed him at Balboa Stadium. The final flight of the Spirit of St. Louis was on April 30, 1928, when Lindbergh flew from St. Louis to Bolling Field, Washington, D.C., where he presented the historic airplane to the Smithsonian Institution.
One of the best-known aircraft in the world, the Spirit was built by Ryan Airlines in San Diego, California, owned and operated at the time by Benjamin Franklin Mahoney who had purchased it from its founder T. Claude Ryan, in 1926. The Spirit is on permanent display in the main entryway's Milestones of Flight gallery at the Smithsonian Institution's Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C.
The aircraft owned by the San Diego Air & Space Museum is a flying replica of the original Spirit of St. Louis. The Museum lost its first replica, the Spirit II, in the 1978 Museum fire.However, 34 craftsmen, including three of the builders of the original Spirit, set about building another. In eight months, the artisans spent 4,800 hours constructing the Spirit III, and on April 28, 1979 the plane flew over San Diego. Spirit III returned to its place of honor in the Museum’s Rotunda and was placed on display on November 4, 2006, to coincide with the International Air and Space Hall of Fame Celebration Gala.

The replica Spirit of St. Louis that you are looking for is permanently hanging in Terminal 2 at San Diego International Airport (formerly known as Lindbergh Field) in San Diego, California, U.S.A.
This replica is avalable 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (including holidays),
It is in an area pre & post airport security & is covered by ceiling. This means that anyone can view it while in the baggage area (where a confirmed air ticket is not required) or in the secured domestic area upstairs from the baggage area (where a confirmed ticket is required).
Pre security viewing (no ticket) is in the lower level mid section of Terminal 2 above luggage carousel #3 in the baggage claim area.
Post security viewing (ticket required) is in the upper level mid section of Terminal 2 in front of domestic travel gates 33, 34 & 35.

I did not include the 'Spirit of St. Louis' words in my sample photos on purpose. You are required to include them.
If there is no picture with your log or the picture does not include your caching name, a body part & the 'Spirit of St. Louis' wording on the suspended plane, your log will be deleted. You can be as creative as you like in how you want to display your banner, sign, piece of paper, etc. However, you must remember that you are in a high security public location where discretion is a must. Please be respectful to security, airport workers and other people in the area.
If multiple people are in your group & in the picture, their geocaching name must also be in the picture. For every 'face' (body part) in the picture, there should be a valid geocaching name.
You must visit the replica Spirit of St. Louis that is located at the San Diego International Airport to get credit for this virtual.
