Gli illustri di Padova - Virtual 2.0 👻 [ITA+ENG] Virtual Cache

Il Prato della Valle, conosciuto più semplicemente come il Prato, è la seconda più grande piazza d’Europa (88620mq) dopo la Piazza Rossa di Mosca.

Questo spazio ha sempre avuto nei secoli una funzione economica e di ritrovo. Già in epoca romana ospitava un teatro di cui si sono trovate le fondamenta nell’attuale canale. Per molto tempo è stato un luogo paludoso dove l’acqua, per la conformazione del terreno, tendeva a stagnare. Nel 1775, dopo che lo spazio fu dichiarato di proprietà comunale, Andrea Memmo bonificò con dei canali sotterranei l’area e deviò l’acqua nell’attuale anello centrale. Da un luogo paludoso il Prato della Valle divenne così un fondamentale punto di ritrovo, socializzazione e scambio economico.

Il progetto iniziale prevedeva 88 statue che rappresentassero altrettanti personaggi illustri della città. Il regolamento stabiliva che tutti i personaggi avessero un legame con Padova, non fossero rappresentati santi o persone ancora in vita. Per sostenere i costi molte statue furono commissionate e finanziate da privati cittadini. Tutte rappresentano personaggi maschili, tranne la numero 85 in cui si trova il busto della poetessa Gaspara Stampa. Alcune statue furono distrutte dall’esercito napoleonico e sostituite con gli obelischi, prima collocati lungo i viali. Alcuni piedistalli sono tuttora privi di statua. La numero 52 è opera dello scultore Antonio Canova (l’originale è custodito presso i Musei Civici). Tra i personaggi si trovano Ariosto, Petrarca, Galileo Galilei, Canova e Antenore mitologico fondatore della città di Padova.

Istruzioni per il log:

Per loggare questa virtual segui queste poche regole:

• Leggi l’ultimo log scritto nel listing e posizionati davanti alla statua successiva seguendo il numero progressivo
• Se non riesci a capire dove si trova la statua aiutati cliccando qui
• Fatti scattare una foto mentre imiti la statua dietro di te
• Nel log scrivi il numero della statua e carica la foto

Esempio: nell’ultimo log Ghepso si è scattato una foto davanti alla statua numero 14; il successivo geocacher si reca alla statua 15, si scatta una foto mentre la imita, quindi carica un log simile a questo:

“Statua 15. Oggi siamo a Padova e ci godiamo questa bella giornata di sole, con l’occasione troviamo questa virtual che ci aspetta da un po’ di tempo. TFTC”

Alcune importanti attenzioni:

• Nel log ricordatevi di scrivere il numero della vostra statua
• Se non potete scrivere subito il log inserite una nota indicando il numero della statua con cui avete giocato così da evitare doppioni
• Alcuni numeri sono senza statua o sono obelischi (11, 12, 33, 34, 45, 55, 56, 77, 78, 88), in questi casi interagite con il monumento come preferite (scatenate la fantasia, mi piacerebbe che non fossero foto semplici davanti al monumento)
• Se la statua che dovresti usare è coperta per restaurazione passa alla successiva e scrivilo nel log
• Le statue sono 88, il giocatore numero 89 dovrà ripartire dalla prima statua e così via
• Non è necessario che si veda il vostro volto, potete coprirlo con una emoji (es. usando l’app insta emoji, facebook, instagram…), mettervi di spalle, modificare la foto…
• Evitate selfie, chiedete se possibile aiuto ad un babbano o fate un lavoro di squadra
• Se avete dubbi scrivetemi un messaggio diretto

The Prato della Valle, known more simply as the Prato, is the second largest square in Europe (88620mq) after the Red Square in Moscow.
This space has always had an economic and meeting function over the centuries. Already in Roman times it housed a theater whose foundations were found in the current canal. For a long time it was a swampy area where water, due to the conformation of the terrain, tended to stagnate. In 1775, after the space was declared a municipal property, Andrea Memmo reclaimed the area with underground canals and diverted water into the current central ring. From a marshy place the Prato della Valle became a fundamental meeting place, socialization and economic exchange.
The initial project involved 88 statues representing as many famous people of the city. The regulation established that all the characters had a connection with Padua, that saints or persons still alive were not represented. To support the costs many statues were commissioned and financed by private citizens. All represent male characters, except the number 85 in which the bust of the poet Gaspara Stampa is found. Some statues were destroyed by the Napoleonic army and replaced with the obelisks, first placed along the avenues. Some pedestals are still without a statue. The number 52 is the work of the sculptor Antonio Canova (the original is kept in the Civic Museums). Among the characters are Ariosto, Petrarca, Galileo Galilei, Canova and Antenore, the mythological founder of the city of Padua.

Log instructions:

To log this virtual follow these few rules:

• Read the last log written in the listing, put yourself in front of the next statue following the progressive number
• If you can't understand where the statue is located, please click here 
• Take a picture while imitating the statue behind you
• Write the statue number in the log and upload the photo

Example: in the last log Ghepso took a picture in front of statue number 73; the next geocacher goes to statue 74, take a picture while imitating it, then upload a log like this:
"Statue 74. Today we are in Padua and we enjoy this beautiful sunny day, with the occasion we find this virtual that has been waiting for us for some time. TFTC "

Some important attentions:

• In the log remember to write the number of your statue
• If you can't write the log right away, enter a note indicating the number of the statue you played with so the next player can avoid duplication
• Some numbers are without statue or are obelisks (11, 12, 33, 34, 45, 55, 56, 77, 78, 88), in these cases you interact with the monument as you prefer (use your imagination, I would like innovative photos and not just in front of the monument)
• If the statue you should use is covered for restoration go to the next and write it in the log
• The statues are 88, the player number 89 will have to start from the first statue and so on
• It is not necessary to see your face, you can cover it with an emoji (eg using the insta emoji app, facebook, instagram ...), stand back, edit the photo ...
• Avoid selfies, ask a Muggle for help if possible or do a team work
