This is the most northerly of my Douglasdale Pathways series (for now anyway) so please enjoy the stroll along 'my' section of the river.
There are still many signs of the 2013 flood around here. The cache host itself was brought in by the floods, the immediate area tells a tale (tons of gravel anyone?). When you park, see if you can see the old tennis courts. There used to be chain link fences around them but the former driving range clubhouse was pushed into the fence and ended up downstream a bit.(thanks to gordoner for that bit of info). The power substation to the north had to be shored up during the flood so it didn't get washed away.
Thanks for coming to visit. Maybe I'll see you on the trails.
