MORAYSHIRE RAILWAY ELGIN EAST SERIES – 7 Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

xbeccax: Sadly this series of caches have been compromised and stolen by some mindless moron/s! Most of these hides were purchased, which some unfortunately do not realise, and soon add up. Unfortunately there is no point in replacing these as they too will go walkies. I also suspect from experience that the same culprit/s will be on the look out for new caches in a different location? Regards Mister T

ALL CHANGE!

1860 - 62

1861 MAY 17th - The Inverness and Nairn Railway were absorbed by the Inverness and Aberdeen Junction Railway.
1861 DEC 30th - The Morayshire Railway line between Elgin East station and Rothes station OPENED to freight.
1862 JAN 01st - The Morayshire Railway line between Elgin East station and Rothes station OPENED to passengers and intermediate station at Longmorn OPENED.

At last the passengers were provided with a trouble free service? However the railway bridge (viaduct) over the river Spey and into Craigellachie was still being constructed and so everyone would have to get off at Craigelachie (Dandaleith) and walk across the road bridge!
