This brings you to the location of the former Lansdown school, school district #56. In 1886 a log school was biult and servered the area until a new frame school was constructed in 1896.Two years later, fire destroyed this school and classes were held at the newly build Lansdown Church until a new school was construced. In 1927 it was replaced with another new school in a new location. The previous school biulding was then used as a community center until the 1950's when it was no longer needed. The student enrollment here in 1886 was 10, by 1915 it reached it's peak at 42. The school was closed in 1959 after 74 years of serveing the area.
