Our first geocache, in Peregrine Woods, where we have had many games of Pooh Sticks. Should be a nice simple find, suitable for buggys and possibly wheelchairs (firm offroad track from some directions, or tarmac path from Kingfisher Way - but may be hard to reach down to the cache from a wheelchair).
These woods are a little oasis in a built up area and are an extension of Mudeford Wood, separated by the runway built during the war. The woods can be seen in aerial photos from the second world war when much of the area was an airfield. There is a lot of wildlife especially birds to hear in the woods, apparently including a pair of Kingfishers on the stream.
Parking available in Peregrine Road. 24hrs in winter, 1hr limit in summer.
