Leeds Drink and Chat is a series of events which have taken place in the pubs of Leeds once a month for the past 18 months now. We have had many visitors from far and wide, and over time a relatively large core of attendees has developed. One such evening, one of the chats ventured down the avenue of taking the idea on tour, hopefully visiting some of the finer watering holes which are outside of our usual corner of West Yorkshire. And so, here is the first such event, where we aim to take Leeds Drink and Chat on tour.
"But why Nottingham?" I hear you cry.
- This series of events for me had always been centered around interesting venues serving quality ale. Ye Olde Trip To Jerusalem certainly ticks that box.
- It's not too difficult to get here by road or rail from Leeds.
- It's far enough away to make a weekend of it.
- There are a number of caches in the area which would be nice to tick off (labs, virtuals, an AR cache to name a few).
As well as the Leeds contingent that we hope to assemble, it would be great to see other local or not so local cachers here, old and new. We are a friendly, chatty bunch, so if you have never been to an event, drop me a message, and I will endeavor to make ourselves known to you and make you feel welcome.
I'm sure those of us coming down from up north will be doing some caching in the area, so locals, any recommendations of not to be missed caches are appreciated.
This timing is very much plan C due to other events in the area (these things happen, no ones fault apart from arguably mine). Plan A had been a Saturday evening event, plan B Sunday early afternoon, so apologies to anyone whom this time does not suit. We plan to be in the area for the whole weekend anyway and will probably be around nearby before the event, quite possible at the venue having our tea.
There is probably a whole load of stuff I've not thought about, but we will wing it and have a laugh no matter what I'm sure. Look forward to seeing you all there.
