You Can't Roller Skate __ _ _______ ____" was a Top 40 hit for Oklahoma singer/songwriter Roger Miller in 1966. If you can complete the lyric, you've got a leg up on solving the theme of this Lawton cache series. All caches are micros or smaller. High muggle factor at most locations, so use extreme stealth.
The "Roller Skate" series was originally intended to be one multi-level cache in Lawton. The problem is that there's so many of these darn critters in town. Instead I created a dozen caches placed for the enjoyment of the SouthWest Area Geocachers (SWAG) and the Texoma Geocaching Assn. (ToGA) in 2011. Over time, the series has grown. Most of the original caches still exist.
Roller skating has been part of the Skating Merit Badge available to Boy Scouts since 1973. Until 2015, it was also an activity pin and belt loop for Cub Scouts.
At this stop, you're looking for a micro hidden near the main entrance of the Black Beaver District BSA service center. When you arrive, you'll quickly spot the object of our affection. This is located along an extremely busy roadway, so be stealthy!
Trivia: The Boy Scouts of America presents a national-level distinguished service award, the Silver Buffalo, for noteworthy and extraordinary service to youth on a national basis, either as part of, or independent of the Scouting program.
