Szent György Hill is a significiant butte next to Badacsoy on
the Balaton Highland. Both have volcanic ground, basalt stones,
vineyards and vine cellars.
It is less popular and commercialized than Badacsony, a bit wilder
and the paths are narrower. You'll see geological sights where ever
you turn and there is a fascinating view over Tapolca Basin, the
Balaton and the surrounding hills.
The stages of this multi-cache will lead you through the most
important places. The suggested starting point is the
Lengyel-kápolna (N46°50,120' E17°27,010'). You can
leave your car here.
Stage 1: 200 metres from the Emmaus, some metres off of the tourist
path marked with yellow, behind a pile of basalt stones. Between
roots of a tree in the woods.
Stage 2: Near a tourist house, among stones, marked with a staff
sticking out.
Stage 3: Above the basalt organ, in a bush under stones.
Stage 4: Near the peak, in a cliff.
Stage 5: A virtual one.
