Corneliu Coposu (born May 20, 1914, Bobota, Sălaj - d. November 11, 1995, Bucharest) was a Romanian politician, the leader of the post-communist Romanian opposition. A graduate of law and a journalist, a trusted man of national-peasant leader Iuliu Maniu, Coposu was a member of the National Peasant Party until his banning in 1947, and later he was politically detained under harsh conditions for 17 years in the Stalinist phase of the communist regime in Romania.
After the Revolution of 1989 he officially re-established the PNT under the name of the National Peasant Christian Democratic Party and was the president of the PNTCD between 1990 and 1995. In this capacity, he founded the Romanian Democratic Convention, whose first president was. Corneliu Coposu was elected senator to the Parliament of Romania in 1992. After his death, Corneliu Coposu was replaced by Senator Ioan Barbuş.

Corneliu (Cornel) Coposu (n. 20 mai 1914, Bobota, Sălaj – d. 11 noiembrie 1995, București) a fost un politician român, liderul opoziției din România postcomunistă. Absolvent de drept și ziarist, om de încredere al liderului național-țărănist Iuliu Maniu, Coposu a fost membru al Partidului Național Țărănesc până la interzicerea acestuia în 1947, iar ulterior a fost deținut politic în condiții foarte aspre timp de 17 ani, în faza stalinistă a regimului comunist din România.
După Revoluția din 1989 a reîntemeiat oficial PNȚ sub numele de Partidul Național Țărănesc Creștin Democrat și a fost președinte al PNȚCD-ului între 1990 și 1995. În această calitate, a fondat Convenția Democrată Română, al cărei prim președinte a fost. Corneliu Coposu a fost ales senator în Parlamentul României în 1992. După decesul său, Corneliu Coposu a fost înlocuit de senatorul Ioan Bărbuș.
