Fee Fi Fo Fum Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

SueDan83: A cache check revealed that this whole row of casuarinas has been severely pruned taking our bison tube. A replacement would mean bringing a ladder or TOTT which is too far to walk these in.

Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the posted coordinates.

However, it is at S 34° 03.208' E 150° 41.105'

We have changed this to a Traditional Cache as there have been too many changes with the Giants' Tools. You may still walk up to WP1 and have a look at the Tools and other pieces of artistical jumps created for equestrian events. Created by the retired tradesmen and women of the Camden Mens Shed.

Take a tape measure.

A two stage multi in the Camden Equestrian Park. There is a gravel walking trail that can be followed for most of the way. This multi will involve a walk of approximately 2km.

Please be aware that equestrian events may be in progress. Access to the cache is still permitted. However, there will be more muggles.

Most events only use a small part of the Park. Occasionally, there is a large scale event such as the EEA CNC Competition which uses the “whole grounds.” It is probably best to avoid ‘caching here on those days. You may have to contact Camden Council to check their calendar of events.

If you use Facebook, the required information may be found here

Also, don’t turn up when the Camden Show is on (March or April). The Camden Show is held 2 weeks prior to the commencement of the Royal Easter Show.

Park near the grandstand behind Onslow oval. Access from Mitchell St or Cawdor Rd. See Parking coordinates.

Walk across the oval to a gap in the fence marked by white poles, behind the cricket nets. Then turn left and after a few metres turn right to cross the creek and then make your way to WP1 by following the gravel walking trail.

At WP1 you should find a number of the giant’s tools laying around. Answer the following questions to help calculate the coordinates for GZ.

A =        3 (the number of tools)

B =        1 (the number of toolboxes, now missing)

C =        5 (the length of the screwdriver, nearest metre)

D =        8  (the number of white stripes plus yellow stripes on the screwdriver’s handle - now hard to see)

E =        2 (the height of the hammer’s head, nearest metre)

F =        4 (the length of the hammer, nearest metre)

GZ can be found, a short walk away, at:

S 34° 03 . ( E ) ( F – 4 ) ( D )        E 150° 41. ( B ) ( A – 3 ) ( C ) S 34° 03.208' E 150° 41.105'

Checksums:  S = 20, E = 17

Congratulations to jkcourtz for being the FTF
