This cache is located along the historic ViaSett trail, also known as the Via del Settimo or Via Bregaglia. The route follows an ancient communication path that has been used since Roman times. The entire trail is well marked with the number 64. If you don’t plan to hike the whole trail, you can take advantage of the convenient PostBus service, which allows you to explore individual stages—including the section that leads to this cache. Alternatively, the cache is also accessible by parking your car nearby, but we highly recommend approaching on foot via the ViaSett to fully enjoy the experience. A lot of information and detailed maps can be found by searching the internet for "ViaSett".

"La Stria" (The Witch) is a tragicomedy written in Bregaglia dialect by Giovanni Andrea Maurizio in 1875. In short, the plot is about Tumee, a young man of good family, who loves Anin, a poor girl. This arouses the jealousy of the young Menga who, to distract Tumee from her rival, denounces her as a witch. Anin is arrested and interrogated. Without the admission of a fault no one could be convicted and then Anin is tortured, confessed and sentenced to death. But Tumee endures in his love and tries to get her out of jail. Meanwhile, Menga, remorseful, exposes her slander and Anin is pardoned.
"La Stria" conquered the heart of the population. It was put on stage several times (the last in 1979) with the participation of numerous local amateurs. The strength of the tragicomedy is established in the declaration of its intrinsic message. A still current and universal message, hoping for a wider union beyond the confessional, political boundaries in tolerance and love.
In 2003 an artistic park on this theme was created by Ugo Giacometti and Patrick Giovanoli. Some trunks of cut, modeled and colored larches represent the fourth scene of the fourth act of the tragicomedy. It is the moment in which people gathered to listen to the reading of the sentence (See notes on the attached photos for the description of the statues).
The project aims to bring the community of Bregaglia as well as guests from outside the valley, closer to the values that the valley encompasses at a historical-cultural, natural and artistic level.
On the lectern in the center of the scene, in front of Anin, you find a beautiful description of the artistic project which I highly recommend reading to easily find the cache.
