Geocache Description:

This is the fourth of six superhero caches placed in Rolfs Park for the 2019 West Bend Cache Ba$h. THE CACHE IS NOT LOCATED AT THE POSTED COORDINATES. See below for directions to the cache. A trail map is also shown below.

This is a letterbox hybrid cache. Letterboxing is another outdoor activity in which people follow clues or a story (rather than just coordinates) to find a container and then put their personal stamp in the logbook and then stamp their own journal with the stamp from the cache.

A letterbox hybrid, like this one, is both a geocache and a letterbox. It can include both coordinates and clues to get you to the final location. Follow the instructions in the following paragraphs to be directed to the actual cache location. Contents include a stamp (do not take) for letterboxing, as well as a log book and swag for geocachers and letterboxers.

YOUR ADVENTURE AWAITS

Parking is available in the lot at N 43° 24.325 W 088° 12.120. This is where it all begins!

1. The trailhead for entrance into the nature preserve is just past the end of the parking lot at N 43° 24.332 W 088° 12.157, then heads north. Suggested route is to walk along the trail in a counter-clockwise direction to find this cache and the others in the park .

2. You’ll encounter several other caches along the way before you get to Green Lantern, assuming you’re going the suggested route of counter-clockwise. The Incredibles, Elastigirl, and Captain America all will be on the way.

3. You will come to a Rolf Nature Preserve sign at about N43 24.528 W88 12.364. The cache is not here; these are merely the starting coordinates for this letterbox hybrid adventure! (It’s also within about 125 feet of Captain America; why not do that one first).

4. Near the sign, the trail forks into two: straight (west) and to the left (south). Take the straight (west) narrow trail about 337 feet, going eventually into the woods, where you'll come to 10 boulders grouped together. The 10 boulders are each about 3 to 4 feet wide each and are located at N43 24.527 W88 12.440.

5. Turn left and proceed south, walking through the beautiful maple woods for 300 feet to N43 24.478 W88 12.433. There isn't a trail in the woods but it's very open with little to no bushwhacking here. You’ll see a huge erratic boulder the size of a car on your left at these coordinates. You’re almost there!

6. Continue south about another 65 to 75 feet past the boulder and you’ll come to a huge broken double trunked tree. You’re there! And about 4 feet off the ground you’ll find what you’re looking for!

THE GREEN LANTERN

Green Lantern is a superhero who first appeared in comic books published by DC Comics in 1940. He is actually a member of an intergalactic police force of thousands, known as the Green Lantern Corps. Each member of the corps has a Power Ring which gives him or her a variety of extraordinary powers, allowing them to combat evil on Earth and throughout the universe. The ring, which also gives the user interstellar flight and provides limited invulnerability, carries a finite charge and must periodically be recharged from a Power Battery in the form of a green-colored lantern. Earth’s Green Lantern has been a member of the Justice League of America, teaming up with other superheroes such as Superman, Wonder Woman, and Batman.
