Ko Tan is located about 5 km southern of Ko Samui. The small island is a green tropical paradise. Now there are just 30 people who live there, lead small resorts and restaurants. You will not find any cars, motorbikes, shops and ATMs. There is a concrete road around the island for cyclists (you can rent a bike) and walkers. Signs show you the way to some interesting points and views.
It's easy to reach this quiet location. You can start with a longtail boat (or speedboat) from Thong Krut in the western side of Ko Samui. Agencies iall over Samui offer the transfer to Ko Tan. After exploring Ko Tan there is the chance to visit also to the smaller neighbour island Ko Madsum.
