June 29, at 8:45pm, East Fork State Park (Army Corp of Engineers area) This area does not close as I was told by the Manager Samantha. In her words this area does NOT close if you are actively recreating. Seeing as a geocaching event basically is loitering or thats what it looks like to the police. To avoid any issues with the local 5-0, the event will be held at the second eye of the Nigfht Cache - Nocturnal Pursuit of the Eyes of Alba, GC6BJ66 which is out of sight from any roads. The cordinates might be a little off. I will post an update upon arrival if they are off so stay tuned for event announcements which you will be notified with your Will Attend Log. At the conclusion of the event you may return to your car and do whatever you want OR you can stay and hike the 3 night caches with me. ( Weather permitting of course )
One thing that goes bump in the night is the Bard Owl. We will sit and listen for it's distinctive call. We can also whisper geo stories and swap this n that.
IF YOU PLAN TO DO THE AFTER EVENT HIKE, YOU WILL NEED WATER OR DRINK OF YOUR CHOICE, AND A FLASHLIGHT. Parts of these 3 caches are off trail so I suggest long pants that can be rolled up and hiking boots. Croks are optional ( my preference ) for stream crossing near the final. If it has been raining, the Forkin' Final may NOT be accessible due to a 30' wide stream crossing. Please take note of the terrain ratings of these caches. You will be on 4.5 terrain!!! in the dark!!!!!
