Geocache Description:

This collection of caches has nothing to do with the Church Micro series in the UK. Given that the Australian 2016 census indicates that No Religion and Jedi Knight are the fastest increasing classifications of the optional religion question "What is the person's religion?" it is not surprising that there is surfeit of empty churches that have been repurposed.

Dont go to the posted co ordinates, its just a free space on our map wink.

The Church of Christ Croydon was 'sacrificed' for the new South Road Expressway.  The little Spidermonkeys used to refer to it as the "Triangle Church".  While researching the history of the church, information is pretty scarce.  There are some photos and recent and OLD newspaper articles available online which will help you solve the puzzle below. It stood on the corner of Elizabeth Street and South Road (formerly Government Road ) in a variety of shapes for over 100 years. According to one article, some original stained glass windows and a foundation stone had also been removed and stored. They were to be used in a memorial artwork to be installed at the site once the South Rd upgrade was finished. Let's hope this occurs soon.  (UPDATE - memorial installed, see Reference Waypoint, a wonderful job too)

The Church of Christ at Croydon was demolished in 20AB

The original foundation stone was dated 19CC

Work began to enlarge the chapel, on Monday June D, 1924
