2019 is the 75th Anniversary of the founding of Marathon, Ontario in 1944. A week long celebration will take place from Sunday, June 23 to Sunday, June 30, 2019.
This part of the 75yr Anniversary Celebration in a series of caches set up on the Penn Lake Park Hiking Trails.
For this series, most caches are close to the trail but you may need to do a bit of bushwhacking to get to to the cache location. There may be more bushwhacking and elevation changes at some caches than others.
This becomes a significant hike when you make it round-trip to complete the series.
This cache is located near the entrance to Penn Lake Park. It is not on a normal trail - Some bushwacking is involved
