2019 is the 75th Anniversary of the founding of Marathon, Ontario in 1944. A week long celebration will take place from Sunday, June 23 to Sunday, June 30, 2019.
This part of the 75yr Anniverary Celebration in a series of caches set up on the Penn Lake Park Hiking Trails.
For this series, most caches are close to the trail but you may need to do a bit of bushwhacking to get to to the cache location. There may be more bushwhacking and elevation changes at some caches than others.
This becomes a significant hike when you make it round-trip to complete the series.
This cache is located near the trail that goes from the Main Parking Lot south towards Penn Lake Road.
To find this cache, use Trailhead 5, which is located behind the Parking Lot. Follow the trail until you get near the cache location, then only a few metres of bushwhacking to get to GZ.
From this cache, you can continue to complete the PLPHT series of caches.
