Geocache Description:

THE GEOCACHE is a two inch (5cm) long, coloured metal tubular container, hidden two feet up, in the ivy on a thick tall stump, nearly opposite the fourth concrete post of the wooden fence, north of the gate at the end of the box shaped hedge over the wooden fence. There is a log roll in a plastic bag, but no room for anything else so please bring your own pen or pencil. Beware of muggles using the path, which can get muddy, so wellies are recommended in wet weather.

THE VENUE for the HCP series is Hamble Cricket Pavilion, and is a line of geocaches starting in a housing area to the south of the cricket field, and goes north past the east edge of the cricket field and the old Hamble Airfield, and ends just short of Satchell Lane. This unfortunately is not a loop, but rather than simply backtracking down the grassy track, a loop can be formed by going south through Hamble Airfield to the west of the original footpath, or down Satchell Lane to the east of the original footpath. The paths within the housing area are tarmac, but the remainder is a grassy track which can get muddy in wet weather, so wellies might be needed. Please note that the muddy track is the back way to the houses which front onto Satchell Lane, so please be considerate to the locals and other muggles using the track to access or bypass the airfield. Hamble Airfied has numerous tracks within it, all of which can get muddy in wet weather. If turning east onto Satchell Lane at the north end of the track, please be careful of any traffic, as there is a short section of road before the tarmac footpath starts on the east side. There are likely to be muggles with dogs. There are seats at the cricket pavilion, and also at various points along Satchell Lane, mainly at the south end, which also leads to Hamble Square and Hamble Quay.
