This is our second cache in a series planned to highlight monuments and buildings in Windhoek, some well known and some off the beaten track.
This cache takes you to a memorial that relates to our local southern African history. It is next to a busy road, just ouside the centre of town, on a hill, no hike required.
This memorial was erected to commemorate the "Bittereinders" of the Second Anglo-Boer War (1899-1902). A number of Boers where forced to flee South Africa and they settled in South West Africa (Namibia).
Please always be safety concious when caching in Windhoek and walking around town. Stealth may be required.
Behind the memorial, stairs go up to an archive. You don't have to go up to find the cache, but the stairs are safeguarding the cache.
