These small town cemeteries are my favorite caches to seek. I love the history and old headstones of these tucked away country cemeteries. On July 16, 1909 the town council met to discuss the establishing of a cemetery near the town of Carmen that could be used and would be kept in good condition. They appointed F. Boyce and C. A. Coff to find a suitable location. Twelve acres in the northeast corner of the southwest quarter section just west of Carmen were chosen which were then owned by John Rolfe. The twelve acres were purchased for $1450.00. This ground was owned by Lottie and John Henry when the sale was completed.
