Thurmond, West Virginia, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and is in the heart of New River Gorge National River. The Thurmond Depot now operates as a summer visitor center.

This cache is placed on private property not owned by the National Park. Many prayers have been prayed in the Thurmond Union Church. Maybe some to protect from wildfires that have burned through the area in years past.
