Geocache Description:

24 July 2019, 19:00 - 20:00

I would like to honour pat&rob's accomplishment of  2500 consecutive days. That's incredible, don't you think? Today, July 24, 2019, he will celebrate with his 2500th consecutive day. Congratulations Rob! This will put him top in BC as the leader only made it to 2499. This will put him at #10 in Canada. I'm streaking right now but I have a LONG way to go before I get anywhere close to that. Please stop by and say congratulations to him. He's found over 5000, so he has lots of stories. There is a nice covered area for us to gather so if we all bring a potluck item, we can have an Appy/Dessert picnic. We can swap stories, help with puzzles or just chat. It's always fun getting together.

If you've read Rob's logs, they do tell quite the story. His geocaching story goes like this:

Signed up for geocaching - August 19, 2012

First find - August 25, 2012

Streak started September 19, 2012

2500th Consecutive day - July 24, 2019

So there you go, and his story continues but unfortunately without Pat. As most of our caching community knows, she sadly passed on May 6. broken heart

She was a beautiful, funny and very caring person. She would have been so proud, but you know, she's looking down, beaming proudly. heart

If you had the pleasure of meeting her, you would know how much of a sense of humour she had. She was really funny and made me laugh so much. She was also one of the most thoughtful people I know. She was always doing something for someone, or making something for someone. She baked goodies, like yummy cookies and muffins, that she would break out, at just the right time. We came out of caves, or back from a hike or off the water and she had something for our hungry appetites. She also made stuffed animals and clothes, that she loved to give away. My granddaughter was lucky enough to be in receipt of some. She was very crafty in so many ways and made so many awesome fun things. I remember one time in particular where it was very cold out (night caching) and I didn't have gloves. She went to the car and got an extra pair of gloves for both tadrew and myself. Then wouldn't take them back at the end of the day, stating that I might need them another day. Sure enough, she was right. I really miss seeing her smiling face at events. Let's all take some time at this event to remember. heart
