About the Port George Lighthouse
This lighthouse was built in 1888 on the eastern pier of the town. It was eventually relocated in the early 1930’s due to instability of the pier. The lighthouse stands 7.6 meters tall. The lighthouse was so important to the area on June 27th, 2017 they took action. Community members worked together to paint the lighthouse and give it a “facelift”.
