I was looking for geocaches that were geared for younger kids and couldn’t find any in my area. So, I decided to create some. These are easy, but with a little puzzle to find the coordinates. The coordinates will be in the hint, so the kids won’t get frustrated if the puzzle seems too hard. The caches will be small to hold goodies. It wouldn’t be fun for kids if there wasn’t some reward. “Kids Only #1” geocache is about Rivers in southern New Jersey. Everybody knows there the most well-known rivers end, but do you know where they start? You may be surprised. The puzzle below has the names of some of the better-known rivers of South Jersey and the towns where they start. Each town is assigned a number. Match the town to the river and you’ll have the coordinates in the correct order. The cache is near the headwaters of one of the rivers in the puzzle. This cache is big enough for small items, but bring your own pen to sign the log. *Parental Warning! Make sure you allow time for the playground. Be sure to look for the others in the Kids Only series.
