Geocache Description:

This hide is a replacement for the previous Collaby Hill (placed by The Noodler), which has been archived. The view from here is worth giving the location another chance. The hide is not at the exact co-ords as the previous but not far from it.

This was the original road before the council straightened it out a bit.  In the late 1800's a bullock driver by the name of Warner used to cart from Beetaloo to Port Pirie.  As the hill was steep, he cut a number of large logs, and used one each trip chained behind his wagon as a brake while descending the hill, to stop the wagon overrunning his bullocks.  Regularly he had to spend time dragging them back to the top for reuse.  He camped at a spot on the flat, latter to become Warnertown, both on the way into Port Pirie and again on the way home.  He was The Noodler's Great Grandfather.

Easy Driveby

Cache is a 750 ml container.
